current councillors
Cllr. Ron Baker - 0151 290 1011
Chair - Melling Parish Council
Born in Liverpool in 1946, he is married to Elaine and they have 3 children plus 6 grandchildren. They moved into the village in 1983 from Waterloo for a number reasons: So that Elaine could be closer to her Nan Skeaping, who had lived in the village since 1936, back in the days when Rainbow Drive, Stuart Road etc was all farm land, they paid £450 for their house back then. It was a nice area to bring up a family. It was closer to Ron's employers (Littlewoods) in Kirkby.
Ron became a councillor in 2001. He thinks it may sound corny but it was to try and improve our village where possible and make it a better place to live in.
Ron is a former Citizen's Advice Bureau advisor and gained a lot of skills and knowledge within that organization.
Cllr. Dawn Beaumont - 07810 768814
Deputy Chair - Melling Parish Council
Dawn moved to Melling 11 years ago from her family home in Maghull. She lives in Melling with her husband and their two young sons and is proud to be a part of this unique community.
Dawn is a working mum who is passionate about and values the facilities that Melling and the surrounding communities offer to young families living in the area. She has held many voluntary positions in the community which have included working as a volunteer at Aintree University Hospital's stroke ward, and as a volunteer with a charity that provides lifelong friendship and practical support to older people. Currently Dawn is a parent representative on her local children's centre parent committee.
Through the good work of Melling Parish Council Dawn would like to continue in making Melling a pleasant and safe environment for residence and the future generations
Cllr. Gerry Lee - 0151 289 9488
Gerry was born in Kirkdale, Liverpool in 1940. He is married with a son and a daughter both of whom are married. Each of his children has provided three grandchildren and Gerry very much enjoys being a Grandfather. He worked for many years as a skilled engineer then, for 15 years before his retirement, he was employed by Merseyside Probation Service.
Gerry was a founding member of Melling Home Watch and in 2003 he became a councillor in order to link the two bodies closer together. Gerry's aspiration is that Melling should be a safer community in which to live and believes that working more closely with Sefton Council, in a positive way, should bring that nearer. He would like to see Melling become a brighter place and is working with the Melling in Bloom team to that end.
